At the heart of their vocation, the
sisters of Grandchamp hear two calls:
“COME AWAY!”,
seek God’s face,
let Him draw near to you in solitude and silence,
and make you whole by His love.
“ENLARGE THE PLACE OF YOUR TENT” …
in your heart, don’t be afraid of being disturbed
by those sent by God; don’t hold yourself back!

This is the call to leave everything
behind and follow Christ on the way of the Beatitudes, to enter His
struggle, to be together a sign of the coming Kingdom, of the
compassion of God; a place of reconciliation, of communion and of
praise.

“Will you from now on, together with your
sisters, celebrate the newness of life which Christ gives you by his
Holy Spirit; will you let this new life live in you, among us, in the
Church and in the world, in the whole creation, thus carrying out the
service of God in our community?”

In each of the places where the sisters
live, the same essentials are present: the struggle of prayer, the
meditation of God’s Word, the common life, a sharing with all those who
come: those who are seeking God, those who pray and work for
the unity of the Church, and those who are committed to justice,
peace and the integrity of creation.
Their whole life finds its source and
meaning in the mystery of Easter, recapitulated in the Eucharist: from
there they draw their strength and their hope. Here they celebrate the
victory of Love over evil and death. They offer up to the Father’s
loving kindness the suffering of the world and of the Church
that they carry within them. Their call to unity is deepened and
confirmed by their commitment to live in community.
