« Come apart and rest awhile… »

« In the guest that we welcome, it is Christ Himself whom we receive »
(Règle de Taizé)

The women, men and sometimes families we welcome come from very different horizons. All are, like us, seekers for Meaning, for Life, for Happiness, for God.

Good to know

Reception: Our reception is generally open: Tuesday morning – Sunday afternoon or evening. Monday the reception is closed.

Rooms: The single rooms (for the most part) are simple. In many rooms there is a sink with shower and toilet on the floor. We invite you, if possible, to bring a sheet, a blanket and towels. Otherwise you can rent them to the community.

The meals are taken in silence, which allows to prolong the prayer and opens to another form of communion. They are sometimes accompanied by a reading or by music. Please tell us if you have a diet. (If you have a gluten-free diet we ask you to bring your own bread.)

We do not have WIFI. In the reception room there is the possibility to connect to the internet.

How to get to Grandchamp

By public transport
The railway station of Neuchâtel is the closest on the Geneva-Basel and Paris-Berne-Zurich lines.
Here you can check the train schedule and buy tickets. In Neuchâtel: leave the station towards the Jura (hills and not towards the lake), cross the street and take the bus nr. 107 or 109 (direction “Place Pury”, buy the ticket until “Areuse”, pay in Swiss money)
Leave the bus at Pury Place, cross the street towards the lake via the subway.
Take the tram to Areuse. (Here you find the timetables for the bus and the tram)
Cross the square in front of the stop of the tram, cross the main street and take the small street towards the lake (it is indicated “beach” and “Grandchamp”). The community is about 5 minutes away. walking.

The Reception Room is in the 1st house on the right entering the hamlet, 1st door.

By car
On the motorway (Lausanne-Yverdon-Neuchâtel-Bienne or Bern) take the exit Areuse.
Follow, in the roundabout (1st coming from Yverdon, 2nd coming from Neuchâtel), “Cortaillod, Areuse”.
After about 100 m turn left towards “beach, Grandchamp”.
Grandchamp is a few hundred meters away.
Before entering the hamlet, leave your car on the place reserved for this purpose.
